Il palazzo attuale è frutto della fusione di precedenti organismi edilizi di impianto medioevale, originariamente allineati lungo le antiche facciate (parete interna del portico) della via di Sopra. Avanzi delle costruzioni originarie esistono sul fronte posteriore dell’edificio e nel corpo di fabbrica verso la rocca. Nell’800 il palazzetto cambiò acquisendo le sembianze attuali. Fino al 1877 l’edificio restò proprietà della famiglia Becattini. L’anno successivo venne donato alla Confraternita di Carità per la realizzazione di un ospedale per i poveri del paese. Nel 1978 l’ospedale divenne proprietà del Comune di Civitella, che ha provveduto alla restaurazione dell’immobile, oggi sede della Residenza Sociale Assistita (RSA).

The present day villa is the result of the fusion of pre-existent medieval buildings, originally set in Via di Sopra along the ancient façade (inner part of the porch). Parts of the original buildings are on the back facade of the building and in the basic structure near the fortress. During the 1800’s the building was altered to its present day look. Until 1877 it remained property of the Becattini family. The following year it was donated to the “Confraternity of Charity” for the site of a hospital for the poor people of the village. In 1978 the hospital became property of the town council of Civitella, it was restored and today it is the seat of the RSA (assisted social residence)
